SITE INFORMATION

This Nordic Recipe Archive-site contains recipes from traditional Finnish, Scandinavian and Russian family dishes to popular international dishes. New recipes will be added on the site every now and then.
While part of these recipes are from my family's sources, there are also recipes "stolen and borrowed" from various cookbooks, magazines, television programmes, newsgroups, websites etc, most of which I have more or less adapted to suit my taste.

Following the links below you will find information about how to navigate and search this site, how to understand and automatically convert the measurements and symbols used, information about Finnish and other cooking ingredients, as well as helpful glossaries from English to Nordic languages like Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic and Russian.

Finnish or Swedish: Å Ä Ö

Norwegian or Danish: Æ Ø Å

Note: the search is not case sensitive, i.e. you can use either UPPERCASE/CAPITAL or lowercase letters.

Please note that I am not a translator or some know-it-all food guru, nor do I have time to perform Internet searches or other research on your behalf. Unfortunately, there are some individuals and businesses out there who should visit this site  —  without being offended :-)
