On February 20th 2025, the Montreal police arrested and jailed for five days the Canadian journalist and activist Yves Engler following a complaint lodged against him by the anti-Palestinian media personality Dahlia Kurtz, accusing him of harassing her by posting about Israel's genocide.
After Engler posted about his arrest and the charges levelled against him, The Canadian Foreign Policy Institute organised an action campaign with thousands of people e-mailing the Montreal police, asking the charges to be dropped,
which lead to further charges brought against Engler for "harassing the police".

Later in August 2022, towards the end of her holiday, more compromising material emerged of "Disney princess" Marin and her friends partying the weekend away:
The first of the videos below stirred the most controversy among the Finns, as Marin's friends appearing on it are at one point heard to utter the word "jauhojengi", meaning "flour gang", the word "flour" allegedly being used in Finnish slang as an euphemism for cocaine or amphetamine.
Marin herself denied the word having been used, but an audio spectrum analysis conducted on the video by an independent sound engineer, speaking anonymously to the Finnish tabloid newspaper Iltalehti, debunked her claim: Iltalehti article by journalist Pyry Vaismaa: "Nyt se on varmaa: Marin-videolla lauletaan jauhojengistä", 18.08.2022 (in Finnish).
The suggestion of drug use on the video led to pressure for Marin to take a voluntary drug test (which came out negative) to prove she hadn't been indulging in the illegal habit hinted to by her courtiers.

and even the GERMAN Ambassador to Canada Sabine Sparwasser thrown in the fun, giving praise and TWO standing ovations to a 98-year-old Ukrainian nazi veteran Yaroslav Hunka for his merit of being a "Ukrainian and Canadian hero" who fought Russians during World War II as a volunteer in the ranks of the Waffen-SS 14th Voluntary Division SS Galizien, a nazi unit whose crimes against humanity during the Holocaust are well-documented.
After the parliament's honouring of the nazi-collaborator Hunka sparked shock and outrage among various Jewish groups and human rights organizations in Canada and around the world, Prime Minister Trudeau denied he or President Zelensky had any knowledge of the planned nazi appearance, blaming the incident solely on the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Anthony Rota, who later half-heartedly apologized for having organized the occasion and resigned from his post.
However, it emerged soon after that Trudeau actually might have met Hunka in person according to an unverified fact expressed in a (since deleted) Facebook posting by Yaroslav Hunka's relative Theresa Hunka on the day of his ovation, in which she writes "Dedo [granddad Hunka] is waiting in the reception hall for Trudeau and Zelensky", with a photograph of Hunka sitting in a wheelchair in a room that is, presumably, the Speaker's office.
On February 2nd, 2024, an independent conservative Canadian media outlet RebelNews, followed on February 5th by the Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail, published a follow-up news story reporting that "the Office of Protocol of Canada extended an invite to Hunka on behalf of Trudeau" to attend a "special event", a reception Trudeau hosted for the Ukrainian President on the same day as Hunka received his standing ovations. Hunka, however, did not attend this occasion.

The above elites don't see themselves having been humiliatingly exposed to celebrate a literal nazi as the worst outcome of the incident, but the fact that Russia can use this blunder to fuel its "unsubstantiated claims" it is fighting nazis and their Western supporters in Ukraine :-)
